Example Plumbing & Heating is responsible for the details you send through this website.

MyTradeSite builds and hosts this website for us. MyTradeSite is run by Cornerstone Digital, a trading name of Snap Media Ltd, Poole. It stores and handles your details for us, and only does what we ask it to.

What we collect

When you ask for a quote, we ask for your name and phone number. You can also give us your email address, where the job is and what you need doing.

If you phone or email us instead, we keep what you tell us so we can do the job.

What this website records

This website does not track you. It puts no cookies on your device and uses no analytics or advertising tools. Everything on the page, photos included, comes from this website's own server.

The server counts how many times each page is opened each day. To tell a repeat view from a new visitor, it makes a one-way code from your connection and browser type. The key for that code is thrown away the next day. The server never keeps your IP address and cannot tell who you are.

It also notes the name of the website that sent you here, such as google.com. It never notes which page you came from. The daily counts are kept for 13 months.

If you tap our phone number, the page adds one to a daily count of taps. Nothing about you is sent with it. The count shows us that the website brings in phone calls as well as messages.

When we use our dashboard, our own browser gets a cookie on this website so our own visits are not counted. MyTradeSite, who run the website for us, get the same cookie for the same reason. Visitors never get this cookie.

What we use it for

We use your details to reply to you and give you a quote. If you go ahead, we use them to arrange the work and send you invoices. When the job is done, we may ask you for a review.

We do not use your details for anything else. We do not sell them or pass them on for marketing.

Why we're allowed to use it

We use your details because you asked us for a quote, and to do the work if you go ahead. We keep invoices because the law says we must. We ask for reviews because it helps our business, and you can tell us to stop at any time.

Who else handles it

• MyTradeSite keeps your enquiry in its database. The database is hosted by Supabase.
• When you send an enquiry, we get an alert by email and by text message. Emails go through Resend. Text messages go through Twilio. Your name, number and message pass through these services.
• We email quotes and invoices to you through Resend. When we ask for a review, we email you through Resend. If you only gave us a phone number, we send a text message through Twilio instead.
• If someone works on the job for us, we send them what they need to do it: your name, phone number, the address of the job and what the job is. This goes by text message through Twilio or by email through Resend.
• We may use MyTradeSite's writing tools to turn our job notes into a quote. Those notes are processed by Anthropic. Your contact details are not sent.
• The server keeps standard technical logs for security: your IP address, the page you asked for and your browser type. They are kept for up to 30 days.

Some of these services are based outside the UK, including in the US. Where your details leave the UK, they are protected by safeguards approved under UK data protection law.

How long we keep it

For as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry and the job, and for our own records afterwards — invoices have to be kept for tax purposes. If Example Plumbing & Heatingstops using MyTradeSite, MyTradeSite keeps what it holds on our behalf until we ask for it to be deleted. You can ask us to delete your details at any time. We will delete everything we don't have to keep by law.
